Beautiful and sentimental, this antique pendant has been hand crafted in 9ct yellow gold, dated circa 1900s. It features a lovely bow, scroll and leaf design with green and white enamel detailing and is set with four 1.85mm seed pearls and two gorgeous purple garnets. The centre garnet is an oval measuring 7.00x5.00x2.34mm, weight of 0.65ct and another pear shaped garnet at the bottom measuring 5.70x3.50x2.10mm, equalling 0.30ct. Completed with a plain gold bale.
This pendant is crafted in the suffragette colours of purple, green and white, suffragette jewellery was symbolically worn during the fight for women's rights to vote during parades and demonstrations. Purple stands for loyalty, devotion and dignity. White for purity and green for hope. Suffragette jewellery originated in the 1890s and was produced right through to 1918.
